On Tuesday, 20th May, 136 Aspire International School students rolled up their sleeves and joined a large-scale beach clean-up at Vale do Lobo organised by Infralobo, an initiative that brought together more than 350 people in celebration of the European Maritime Day and Loulé’s Environment Week.
Organised by Infralobo and Vale do Lobo Resort, the clean-up covered both Garrão Poente and Garrão Nascente beaches. In just a few hours, over 260 kilos of waste were removed from the coastline — a powerful example of environmental action driven by community collaboration.
Aspire was proud to be a key participant in this event, with students ranging from Preschool to Secondary, supported by a dedicated team of teachers and staff. Our youngest learners worked side by side with older pupils, fostering not only environmental awareness but also an inspiring spirit of teamwork and citizenship.
For Aspire, this wasn’t just a clean-up — it was a real-world lesson in sustainability, responsibility, and community impact. Armed with gloves, bags, and enthusiasm, our students made a visible difference to our local environment, while learning about the importance of protecting it.
We also want to thank the parents who joined us on the day, helping make the experience even more meaningful for our students.
We’re incredibly proud of all our students and staff who participated. Initiatives like this show how environmental stewardship can begin at school — and inspire change far beyond it.
